Good bye and good luck!

After 6 years, it is now time for one of Doc Lounges hardest workers to leave the team. Marie Thorin has been part of Doc Lounge since the very beginning in 2006. She started as a volunteer at Doc Lounge in Malmö and quickly became involved in the programming. When moving to Gothenburg in 2008 Marie was an important part of the Doc Lounge expansion and helped out a great deal when opening up a Doc Lounge in Gothenburg. Since then she has been working as an assistant at Doc Lounge in Gothenburg and now the last year also as a project manager. Outside of Doc Lounge, Marie's main focus is photography. A couple of years back she studied still image photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art in Amsterdam and later filmphotography at the University of Gothenburg. So what are you off to? I'm going to focus more on my own work. I started a project about a year ago, three films based on three poems by Czeslaw Milosz. It's shot in Polen, Lithuania and Lund. The film will be screened in Polen and we're hoping to sell it to Polish TV. I'm also going to spend more time on other fun art projects. Doc Lounge has been so much fun and it's a bit sad to leave, but I'm looking forward to stimulate my artistry. I'm also going to start working more at the alternative cinema in Gothenburg, Bio Roy. Thank you for all your energy and good luck Marie!
