Doc Lounge co-hosting world premiere of Bikes vs Cars at SXSW

This year's SXSW is an extra big deal for Doc Lounge, as we’re co-hosting the world premiere of Bikes vs Cars on March 15! The outdoor event, which is open to the public, kicks off at 7pm in Republic Square Park and is completely free. Remember to bring a blanket to sit on! After the film there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers and if you’re hungry there will be food trucks available.

If you really want to get into the right biking mood earlier in the day, there’s a SXSW + Bike Hugger meetup at the Long Center at 3.30pm with cyclists, guests, DJs, live music, Malmö city councillor Karolina Skog and a delegation of city planners. At around 6pm, they will organize a social bike ride to the park and the premiere.

While in Austin, Maja will look for films for the autumn selection and Andrea will be doing some extra work on behalf of the Doc Lounge Transmedia Project, specifically attending sessions on transmedia and interactive documentaries. One focus in particular will be new and interesting ways to interact with the audience and drive engagement through the use of various platforms.

As always, if you want to meet up with us at SXSW, get in touch!
