Doc Lounge at Nordisk Panorama 2015

On Friday, September 18, the 26th edition of the Nordisk Panorama Nordic Short- & Documentary Film Festival kicks off in Malmö, Sweden. Over six days, the festival offers films, special events, masterclasses, workshops and discussions with a special focus on Iceland and Virtual Reality. You can read more about Nordisk Panorama, and check out the extensive program, on its official website.

Doc Lounge will be presenting two events during the festival. First up is the session Narrow Film: Wide Audience on Saturday, September 19, which focuses alternative distribution models through a case study of the film The Ceremony. Doc Lounge co-director Katharine Simpson will be there to moderate and present our projects Moving Docs and Doc Lounge Live, and also how we work with screenings, innovative distribution models and audience engagement. The session is free and is presented together with Oberoende Filmares Förbund (OFF).

On Monday, September 21, Doc Lounge will host the gala premiere of Malin Andersson’s new film Blood Sisters, in collaboration with Malmö stad, Film i Skåne, ABF, Folkets Bio and WIFT. Held at Moriskan in Malmö, the evening will offer not only the film, but also a chance for the audience to ask questions to the director, the crew and the film’s two main characters - the sisters Julia and Johanna. Afterwards, Johanna Ritscher from Femtastic will DJ. It will be a night to remember! Free entry, but don't forget to sign up in advance.

Also this weekend, Doc Lounge will be organizing our annual Meet Up! Representatives from all our clubs will travel to Malmö for an inspiring weekend full of discussions, workshops and - of course - events at Nordisk Panorama. The grand finale of the Meet Up will be the Blood Sisters premiere, so we're looking forward to seeing you there!
